…the action begins in the urban jungle. And all these different urban elements and colours in Tokyo inspire the G-STEEL GST-200RBG Robert Geller Edition. The watch is completely black, with small gold accents on the display and a dark fuchsia second hand; a nod to Geller's latest collection. Together, these elements evoke an exciting image of Tokyo at night; glittering lights and the buildings that are illuminated so effectively.
"My favourite time in Tokyo is walking through the city in the middle of the night, when it is impossible to sleep because of the jet lag. The lights, smells and sounds are really magical and I wanted this watch to reflect that magic", said Geller.
"I have been working with G-SHOCK for several years, and was very pleased when we decided to create a watch together. I wore a G-SHOCK watch throughout my teenage years, so it is really exciting to be able to make my own, more grown up version", said Robert Geller. "For the past ten years, I have been producing my ready to wear collection in Japan because I love the quality and care of Japanese craftsmanship. G-SHOCK shares this same love, which is why this collaboration is a natural fit for us ".
Robert Geller was born in 1976 in Hamburg and has lived in New York for the last 13 years. He studied at the renowned Rhode Island School of Design and joined Marc Jacobs straight after graduating. He launched his own label in 2007 and, since then, he has presented a collection at New York Fashion Week every season — the only German designer to do so under their own name. In 2009, he won a CFDA Award in the category "Menswear Designer of the Year"
